In 2022-23, LCU’s men’s and women’s tennis teams will begin NCAA play for the first time under Head Coach Jason Speegle, who will serve as the program’s first head tennis coach since 1982. Starting in the fall, the teams will compete in the Lone Star Conference. Since the 1981-82 season, the school has not had a tennis program. Their home matches will be played at the new Penny Gullo Tennis Center, which is equipped with PlaySight’s cutting-edge tennis technology.
It was a no-brainer for LCU to choose PlaySight as the streaming technology for the tennis program. It will enhance the new Penny Gullo Tennis Center and will offer both streaming and video review functions. LCU will become a premier tennis facility with the addition of PlaySight on all eight courts. LCU will utilize the videos for player development as well as stream matches to players’ friends and family around the globe. With the addition of PlaySight, Penny Gullo Tennis Center will become an attractive venue for tournaments of all kinds.
How is CNXA progressing?
Many collegiate tennis programs partner with Connexa Sports for their video and technology needs, and the company plans to roll out other products and platforms, including its Slinger Ball Launchers and AI capabilities in the near future. LCU’s technology will be incorporated into CNXA’s new facility in addition to CNXA’s commitment to college tennis.
